Greetings from Broken Hill

As you may be able to see from the map it has been a busy few days since departure, clocking up the km's so we can start to enjoy some different parts of Australia. We are currently in Broken Hill until Monday which will be a nice break. and a good chance for some sight seeing.

We loved seeing our friends in Narromine. The Wandinong Country Club and Tropical resort (aka the Wilson's place) served us well and it was fantastic to catch up with our local friends. It was a bit cold and wet so we were delighted to be housed indoors. Jules and Nick -  thank you so much for your hospitality and fitting us in to your busy lives!

From there we traveled a very long and straight road to Emmdale Road house which is a truck stop in between Cobar and Wilcannia. The boys loved watching the road trains come and go and playing soccer in the vast car park!

We arrived in Broken Hill today and looking forward to a bit of a rest and some proper sight seeing. Hoping to visit Silverton, a mine and have a look around this seemingly thriving metropolis in the middle of nowhere! Charlie is very keen to see a mine and search for "treasure", a large gold nugget would not go astray!

The driving is going well and the van is quite compact and not hard to tow. I actually think Jase has a more difficult task as his job description is far more varied than mine - food and beverage manager, travel agent, referee, mediator, DJ, partially masticated grape picker uperer, entertainer, train spotter and chief charger of all electronic devices - Charlie, Gil and I keep him very busy! We have not had any major reversing issues however there is plenty of time for that!

From here we head to Camerons Corner, Maree, Yulara and Alice. Very much looking forward to seeing the outback and red centre. After driving past "The Rock" fuel station between home and Newcastle so many times I think it is about time we saw the real deal!

Take care all, will update again soon.
